Our Therapy Program
We are currently accepting new clients for virtual and in-person sessions!
We offer low-fee therapeutic services for children, adults, and families which are trauma-informed, fat positive, queer-affirming, poly-affirming,
and operate from a social justice framework.
We offer therapy in English, Spanish, and American Sign Language (ASL)
Our Therapy Fund
Our mission is to make affirming therapy affordable for everyone who needs it.
We offer affordable, sliding scale therapy services. The average rate clients pay for sessions in our therapy program is $75. About 60% of that amount goes directly to the therapist as a modest living wage. The next 20% or so covers building costs and utilities for our therapy space, as well as clinical supervision for our team. The remaining 20% is split between administrative costs, website fees, software, taxes, office supplies, education and training, professional fees, and credit card processing charges.
While the fees we charge are just enough to keep us running,
they are often far beyond what our clients can afford.
This is where you come in.
You can give the gift of mental wellness.
Every $75 we raise is one more hour of pro bono therapy for an LGBTQIA+ person living below the poverty line. Each $10 or $20 we raise can help us provide a subsidized session for someone who can contribute something toward a session, but not the full rate.
Each hour of therapy provided by you is one step closer to wellness, stability, and self-actualization for a vulnerable community member. When you support our work with a donation, you’re making an immediate difference in the lives of our clients. Every hour of therapy can help to turn someone’s life around.
All donations to The Welcome Project PA Therapy Program are tax-deductible, and go directly to our client’s mental health care costs, helping them get the help they urgently need.
Please consider donating to our Therapy Fund to help us continue offering low-cost
services for marginalized communities!

La-Keya Williams, MA
Prelicensed Therapist
(she/her/hers)
Welcome! I am La-Keya Williams and I currently possess a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Rosemont College and two years of clinical psychology education from The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Instilling hope and resilience through treatment is a hallmark of my work.
For almost 15 years, I’ve had the awesome privilege of providing therapy and case management to diverse individuals. Particularly, within intensive outpatient and outpatient settings, I have assisted individuals in compassionate care coordination and in creating and executing individualized plans to heal. As a cis-gender woman of color, I have both lived experience and clinical experience that attest to the importance of using culturally-centered and trauma informed interventions/clinical skills to dismantle barriers to treatment and healing for communities of color. Providing equitable and compassionate services for underserved and underrepresented populations within various therapeutic settings is a consistent and urgent priority for me. I am a constant and persistent advocate for integrated PERSONHOOD meaning that my presence in therapy is solidified through interactions that empower individuals as they are, providing resources that affirm and protect their experiences and uniqueness so they can reach their full potential.Amber Lynn Connell, MA, LPC
